WAMS has started a new collaboration – this time with the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester. The Club is working with Pakachoag Music School in Worcester to introduce children of various ages to music in fun and creative ways, and WAMS is recruiting adult mentors for the first program, called Rhythm Kids. It’s a music and movement class on Tuesdays from 3 to 4 pm. There is a professional music teacher to lead the class, so mentors do not need any formal music training – just a love of kids, fun, and laughter. Anyone interested should contact Jay Zayas, WAMS Director of Programs, at jzayas [at] wamsworks.org. We are looking to start a second group with third and fourth graders at 4 on Tuesdays and teen program for composing at the keyboard on Wednesdays.
